Two candidates compete for one Marion Assessor spot

Jun 7, 2020

Two candidates are competing for one spot on the Marion Board of Assessors: Pat DeCosta and Joe Zora.

Marion is encouraging absentee voting this year because of the pandemic, and has already mailed ballot applications, so Sippican Week spoke with candidates early. The election will be held on June 26 at the Benjamin D. Cushing Community Center, 465 Mill Street. The revised voting hours will be 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Voters should bring their own mask, pen and gloves. There will be no more than 10 voters in the building at a time, and voting booths will be separated and cleaned after each use.

Town officials encourage voters to take advantage of the Early Voting Ballot Application and vote by mail option to reduce interactions at the polls and potential wait times.
