Two charged with drug possession at Hillside Motel
Two men have been charged with drug possession following a search of a room at Hillside Motel on Monday.
Police executed a search warrant at the motel and one on Troy Jones, 35, of Wareham, who was living in room 109.
During surveillance conducted in the week leading up to the search, police discovered that Jones was selling illegal narcotics from his motel room.
Narcotics officers observed multiple people buying narcotics at the motel. Officers also conducted controlled purchases of heroin from Jones.
As a result of the search warrants, Jones was found in possession of heroin that was packaged for distribution.
Johna Fonseca, 35 of Wareham, was also present at the time of the search warrant. Fonseca was found in possession of prescription medications belonging to another individual, according to police.
Subsequently Jones was charged with possession with the intent to distribute a class “A” substance subsequent offense (heroin,) and Fonseca was charged with possession of a class “E” substance and conspiracy to violate the controlled substance act.
During the investigation, the Mattapoisett Police received assistance from the Wareham Police Department.
In addition, detectives from the South Eastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council detective division assisted in the execution of the search warrants.
Members of the Bristol County Sheriffs South Coast Anti-crime Task Force assisted in the investigation as well.
