Two Fairhaven residents were killed in a single car accident on Monday night.

Mattapoisett Police responded to the crash on Fairhaven Road (Route 6) just after 10:30 p.m.

Officers found a severely damaged 2002 Saturn owned and operated by Brooklyn Cody Rodrigues, 21, of 85 Middle St., Fairhaven.

Rodrigues appeared to have lost control of the car while traveling westbound on Route 6. Police believe the car struck a curb causing it to roll over and come to a rest in the yard of 83 Fairhaven Rd.

Meghan Sargent, 18, of 11 Jarvis Ave, Fairhaven was the sole passenger in the car. Both Sargent and Rodrigues were pronounced dead at the scene.

The Mattapoisett Fire Department and the Massachusetts State Police Accident Reconstruction team assisted the Mattapoisett Police at the accident scene.
