Skates, cleats, and lacross gear...it can all get pretty expensive, especially for families with more than one child.

The Friends of the Mattapoisett Library are making it possible to purchase some nearly new gear for bargain prices at their used sports equipment sale to be held at Center School, 17 Barstow Street, on Saturday, October 1 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Donors of equipment and members of the Friends can shop from 10 to 11 a.m.

Donations of gently used skates, soccer equipment, lacrosse gear, skis, roller blades, baseball equipment and much more are welcome on Friday, September 30 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Center School gym. So, turn in your stuff and come back the next day to shop for what you need for the year.

Proceeds benefit the Friends of the Mattapoisett Library.
