MATTAPOISETT — See a photo exhibit of hands at the Mattapoisett Free Public Library during July.

From July 2 to 31, local photographer Richard Van Inwegen’s “Musical Hands - A Photographic Study" will be exhibited at the library.

The collection contains photographs of the hands of musicians playing their instruments. Most of the images capture members of the New Bedford Symphony Orchestra or the South Coast Chamber Music Series.

Van Inwegen “self-assigned himself” the project, according to the Mattapoisett Free Public Library.

“As Van Inwegen notes, a self-assigned project for study is a great way to expand photographic knowledge and experiences since every subject has unique characteristics and challenges,” a press release from the library said.
