Volunteers clear trails at Hagemann Woods property
New trails will soon make more open space available for the public at the Sippican Lands Trust Hagemann Woods property.
The 24.5-acre parcel is located on Point Road, adjacent to the Point Road Memorial Forest. Further down Point Road, the Lands Trust owns and maintains the waterfront properties named Osprey Marsh and Howland Marsh.
Walking paths on those properties are complete, and on Saturday, Lands Trust volunteers started clearing trails at Hagemann Woods.
Lands Trust Head Steward Yelena Sheynin said other improvements, such as a new parking lot and kiosk, were recently completed at the site.
“It’s a great property and a lovely addition to the other ones along Point Road,” Sheynin said.
The plan is to connect Hagemann Woods trails with ones at the Point Road Memorial land.
Additionally, the Lands Trust will be updating signs at all properties to reflect the group’s new logo.
Sheynin also said the Lands Trust’s popular yoga series held at the Brainerd Marsh will be expanded.
“It’s going to be a great summer,” Sheynin said.
