MATTAPOISETT — Join the Land Trust for a guided walk of the Pine Island Watershed lands north of Angelica Avenue and Crescent Beach. The walks will be held on May 4 and 11 at 1 p.m. 

The Land Trust is working to preserve 120 acres of forests, streams, wetlands and salt marsh in the area. The May 13 Town Meeting will consider a grant of town funds to support conservation efforts. 

The walk will begin at the Oliver Wendell Holmes Jr. stone foundation site on Angelica Avenue, just after the Prospect Road turn. Attendees should park at the town pump station, or along the road. 

Walkers should prepare for mud and dress for the weather. Long pants and closed shoes are recommended.
