Willis Collyer, 91

Willis H. Collyer, 91, of Mattapoisett died on Tuesday, March 19, at Our Lady’s Haven after a long illness.

He was the husband of the late Barbara R. (Walker) Collyer. Born and raised in Marblehead, he was the son of the late Ernest L. and Corinne (Lindsey) Collyer. He lived in Mattapoisett since 1956.

Mr. Collyer was a member of the Mattapoisett Congregational Church.

He was formerly employed as supervisor of marine law enforcement with the Massachusetts Environmental Police.

Mr. Collyer served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II. He was a member of Florence Eastman American Legion and the Machacam Club.

Survivors include his two sons, Michael L. Collyer and his wife Jacqueline and Craig W. Collyer and his wife Joanne, all of Mattapoisett; a daughter-in-law, Jennifer Collyer of Fairhaven; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

He was the father of the late Karl M. Collyer.
