Winter activities at the Elizabeth Taber library
MARION — There are multiple activities throughout the rest of winter at the Elizabeth Taber Library. The library is located at 8 Spring Street.
Spooky winter stories. Jeff Belanger will be at the library on Thursday, Feb. 19 at 6 p.m. to explore the haunts, legends and monsters associated with winter including frozen people, abominable snow beasts, icy haunts and strange creatures who adapt to freezing temperatures.
For more than 25 years, Jeff has been exploring the weird and unexplained. This event is open to ages 12 and up. Registration is required. Call the library to reserve tickets.
Banned Book Club. Banned Book Club will meet on Tuesday, Feb. 10 at 1 p.m., to discuss John Green’s “Looking For Alaska” — the most banned book since 2021.
Romance Readers Book Club. Join the library on Feb. 10 at 6 p.m. for the 2nd Annual Romance Readers night.
Librarians will be sharing their favorite romance reads, as well as reading some of their favorites out loud.
Valentine’s crafts, and treats will be available. This is a free event and open to all 18 years and up. Register on the library’s website or by calling the library.
Cozy Cup Book Club. Join the Cozy Cup Book Club on Wednesday, Feb. 11 as the group discusses M.C. Beaton’s “Death of a Valentine.” Coffee and tea will be provided.
Take Your Child to the Library Day. Take Your Child to the Library Day will be on Saturday, Feb. 7. There will be crafts, storytime and more between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Fun with Feelings storytime. Join clinical psychology doctoral student Morgan Browning for a special valentine’s themed Fun with Feelings storytime at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 14.
This program is designed for kids ages 4-years-old to 8-years-old and features a craft after storytime.
Tri-Town Against Racism. The library will be hosting Tri-Town Against Racism and the Excellent family for Black History Month storytime on Tuesday, Feb. 17 at 10:30 a.m. for kids of all ages.
Kids can drop in anytime between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 19 for crafting.
Professor Bugman’s petting zoo. Join Professor Bugman for an arthropod petting zoo on Friday, Jan. 20 at 11 a.m..
This program is for ages 3 and up and requires registration. Register through the libraries website.
