Harbor Days brings tasty food to town
If there are any rumbling tummies in Mattapoisett, don't blame the Lions Club. As Harbor Days, the yearly week long festival at Shipyard Park, continues there are plenty of finger licking options to satisfy any tastebud.
On Tuesday night, the tent at the park was filled with patrons for the annual Taste of the Town. Local restaurants brought their signature dishes, ranging from seafood rolls to pizza.
Despite the heat, Lions Club member Lois Ennis said there was a good turnout. The ocean breeze definitely helped.
"People have responded. It's a great crowd," said Ennis.
On Wednesday night, the club served up it's "famous" strawberry shortcake topped with a hearty dollop of whipped cream, which crowds enjoyed as the town band performed in the gazebo.
More good food is coming to the tent as Harbor Days continues through Sunday with seafood rolls and clam chowder on Friday night, Lobstafest on Saturday, and a pancake breakfast on Sunday.
