ORR business administrator resigns
The Old Rochester Regional School District has seen two business administrators resign in as many years, and officials are now seeking an interim to replace the outgoing Catherine Antonellis.
Superintendent Doug White informed Rochester and Marion School Committee members about her resignation last week.
On Sept. 24, the Dighton-Rehoboth School Committee voted to appoint Antonellis as that district’s business administrator. She is expected to start there this month. She was not present at either the Rochester or Marion School Committee meetings held last week.
White said Antonellis is expected to complete three tasks before leaving: compile the end of the year reports, finish the district’s audits, and certify the excess and deficiency account.
“Those are the conditions we placed on her before she moves on,” White said.
Finding a full-time replacement immediately is not possible, White said. Right now, districts across the state are in the middle of budget preparations.
In the meantime, an interim replacement will be sought. White offered a spring deadline to find a permanent business administrator.
“We will put the advertisement [online] now and make sure we have viable candidates available,” White said.
Antonellis was hired in September 2012. She filled a position left vacant by Katie Isernio, who announced her resignation in May 2012.
Antonellis was the treasurer for the Somerset Berkley Regional School District. Prior to that position she was the town accountant in Blackstone. Antonellis also served as the assistant town accountant in Mansfield and has experience as an accountant in the private sector.
Antonellis holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from Bentley College. She completed the Massachusetts School Business Administrator's training program and is certified as a School Business Administrator with the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
