Student council spreads Christmas spirit in song
Members of the Old Rochester Regional High School Student Council spread holiday cheer to the residents of Hathaway Manor in New Bedford on Thursday, Dec. 13. This was the first time the student council caroled at the extended care facility.
Joining the seven student singers were the council’s two advisors, Toby Kyle and Merrideth Wickman. Kyle noted the carolers brought, “Big hearts, not big voices.”
When caroling began, around 50 residents joined the council to sing along to classics such as “Twelve Days of Christmas,” “Jingle Bells,” “We Wish You a Merry Christmas,” and others. Students, advisors, and residents said they hope this will become an annual tradition for the holiday season.
The student singers were, Nick Bergstein, Kelly Merlo, Julia Nojeim, Renae Reints, Troy Rood, Natasha Shorrock, and Leah Thomas.
