Rochester woman killed in Carver accident

A 20-year-old woman from Rochester was killed Monday afternoon after her car crashed into a truck on South Main Street in Carver.

According to police, the woman was operating a 2004 Honda Civic that collided head-on with a 2000 Kenworth truck operated by a 52-year-old Fitchburg man.

In a press release, police said the victims' identities would not be released.

Carver police, firefighters and paramedics arrived on the scene at approximately 1 p.m. Both vehicles were severely damaged and first responders used the jaws-of-life to extract the woman from her car.

Both drivers were transported to a local hospital for treatment. The woman died at the hospital due to her injuries.

Carver and Massachusetts State Police are investigating the cause of the collision. Wareham Police and paramedics, the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Department and Plympton Police provided assistance at the scene.
