Mattapoisett Library welcomes acclaimed poet April 4
Celebrate Poetry Month at the Mattapoisett Library with a free public reading by noted poet Jeffrey Harrison on Saturday, April 4 at 2 p.m. The reading will be followed by a book signing and reception, sponsored by the Friends of the Mattapoisett Library.
Harrison is the author of five full-length books of poetry, including "Incomplete Knowledge," runner-up for the Poets’ Prize in 2008, and, most recently, "Into Daylight," published by Tupelo Press in 2014 as the winner of the Dorset Prize. In addition, a selected poems collection, "The Names of Things" was published in 2006 by The Waywiser Press in the U.K.
A recipient of Guggenheim and NEA Fellowships, he has published poems in The New Republic, The New Yorker, The Yale Review, The Kenyon Review, The Hudson Review, Poetry and elsewhere.
Garrison Keillor has read more than 15 of his poems on his radio show “The Writer’s Almanac.” Harrison lives in Massachusetts and has taught at colleges and universities, writing programs and high schools. For more information, go to www.jeffreyharrisonpoet.com.
