Top ORR seniors honored at banquet

May 1, 2015

On Wednesday, April 29, the top five students of Old Rochester Regional High School’s senior class got to do something they rarely do: miss class. Students Austin Salkind, Andrea Harris, Michael Kassabian, Julia Nojeim and Ashley Pacheco, along with National Honor Society Adviser Sarabeth Morrell, Principal Michael Devoll and Superintendent Doug White travelled to Independent Harbor in Assonet to attend the 27th annual South Coast Conference Academic All Stars Banquet.

The event was held to celebrate the hard work and success of the five highest academically ranked seniors from each of the nine South Coast Conference schools: Old Rochester, Bourne, Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical, Case, Wareham, Seekonk, Dighton-Rehoboth, Fairhaven and Apponequet.

After lunch catered by Independence Harbor, the National Honor Society advisers from each school spoke about the honorees from their respective school. Each student was called up individually and was lauded for his or her accomplishments inside and outside of the classroom. Memorable high school events and further aspirations were shared in the biographies of the students’ four years of high school. Students were awarded certificates and medals as tokens of their accomplishments.
