Rochester honors fallen soldiers

State Rep. William Straus (D-Mattapoisett) joined town leaders and residents Sunday afternoon for a Memorial Day ceremony that honored those soldiers who sacrificed their lives.
To pay respects, Board of Selectmen members Brad Morse, Naida Parker and Chair Rich Nunes read the names of Rochester’s fallen.
The ceremony began at noon in the center of town. Straus and Selectmen led the parade that included the Rochester Memorial School band’s fifth and sixth grade students, Scout troops, Fire Department members and representatives from the New Bedford Reserve Officers Training Corps.
