Families find fun in the dark at Salty’s Silvery Moon Soiree
A late October tradition returned for its ninth year as families warmed themselves by campfires and listened to tall tales at Salty’s Silvery Moon Soiree.
On Saturday evening, Mattapoisett Land Trust members welcomed kids and parents to Dunseith Gardens for the event.
Two campfires, fixings for s’mores and music greeted attendees at the Land Trust property, located at the corner of Route 6 and North Street.
“This park is definitely one of the trust’s centerpieces,” said Mattapoisett Land Trust President Michael Huguenin. “It’s so close to town and everyone knows where Salty is.”
The event generally attracts between 100 to 250 people.
And each year Center School students are asked to pitch in by decorating luminarias that light the way from the sidewalk on Route 6 towards the festivities.
“I think the parents enjoy it as much as the kids in some ways,” Huguenin said.
