Gladiator hockey goes undefeated over weekend
All three Gateway Gladiator hockey teams hit the ice over the weekend.
The Squirts faced off against Whitman-Hanson-Kingston on Saturday in a battle of the top two teams in the division. Despite going down 2-0 early, the Gladiators fought back to win 7-3. Tommy Clavell led the offense with four goals and Brayden Cannon, Ben Hebbel and Patrick Tripp all scored once.
The Squirts then faced Duxbury on Sunday. The Gladiators won 5-1, with Hebbel scoring twice and Tripp,Cannon and Brayden Hathon all scoring once.
The Pee Wees dominated Duxbury on Saturday, winning 11-0. Nathan Ribeiro and Ty Rebeiro each scored a hattrick, Connor MacLeod scored twice and Thomas Leger, Matthew Paling and Joe Urnek each scored once. Ryker King was in net and secured the shut out.
The Bantam team wore their ugly holiday sweaters to their game against Plymouth over the weekend, where they won 6-1. Quirino doCanto scored a hattrick, while Jack Martins, Steven Old and Tyler Lovendale all adding one as well. Goaltender Alex DeMarco stopped 19 of 20 shots.
