House condemned after police discover hoarding
The house at 308 Converse Road in Marion was condemned on Saturday afternoon after its elderly female occupant was removed and transported to Tobey Hospital.
It’s unclear how police were alerted to the issue, but there were hoarder-like conditions in the home.
One officer on the scene relayed over the radio: “It’s probably the worst we’ve ever seen as far as the conditions inside.”
Marion Police, Fire and EMS were on the scene. Firefighters removed the front door, and later officers and EMS could be seen wearing face masks and protective foot coverings as they entered the house.
Once the woman in the home was removed on a stretcher, caution tape was placed across the door. The Board of Health later condemned the home.
