Old Colony heads take on the wrestling ring at Country Fair
Old Colony superintendent Aaron Polansky is never one to back away from a challenge.
Well-known for his singing (his snow-day rendition of "Hallelujah" attracted national attention and was aired on NBC) and graduation day selfies, Polansky tried something new during the Rochester Country Fair on Saturday. Alongside Old Colony Athletic Director Matt Trahan, Polansky took on the wrestling ring.
Polansky and Trahan (aka "Kid Disco" and "Smooth Jazz") entered the ring as part of a wrestling demonstration, put on by Top Rope Productions. The duo made up one team during a tag-team match, facing off against professional wrestlers.
A huge number of Old Colony students and staff showed up to lend support to the team -- the crowd erupted in roars when Polansky and Trahan took to the ring.
After a long-fought battle involving both Trahan and Polansky being flipped, thrown and bounced off of the ropes (and showing their rivals the same treatment), Team Old Colony was named the champion.
