It's almost ghost-hunting time at Mattapoisett Library

Sep 20, 2017

The haunting season is closing in, and Mattapoisett Library has big plans to join in the celebrations.

This year, the library is preparing a ghost hunt for 20 lucky people. The participants will venture into the library in the dead of night on Saturday, September 21, and investigate claims of ghostly activity.

The S.P.I.R.I.T.S of New England Paranormal Investigation team will be on hand to help the investigation along. The group describes itself on its website as "a small group of dedicated paranormal investigators...that will use scientific techniques to help find out what the activity is....Our group consists of people that have had their own paranormal experiences to total skeptics, but we all share a love of the paranormal and the search for unanswered questions."

Though the paranormal investigation itself is limited to 20 people, the beforehand ghost hunt lecture is open to all. The lecture will run from 5-6:30 p.m., and the ghost hunt will run from 8 p.m.-midnight.

To sign up, call the Mattapoisett Library at 508-758-4171 or visit www.mattapoisettlibrary.org.
