Bulldogs defeat Wareham 64-55 in home opener

Dec 16, 2017

The Bulldogs notched a 64-55 win over Wareham on Friday during the team’s home opener. Playing fast, defensively-minded basketball, the team out-rebounded the Vikings and kept a healthy lead for the majority of the game.

“They got within 7 or 8 points, but we really never lost control of the game,” said Head Coach Steve Carvalho.

Carvalho noted that the Bulldogs entered the game ready for a fast-paced match up.

“We came in here looking to run-and-gun, but in a disciplined way,” he said.

Vikings Head Coach Steve Faniel credited the Bulldogs for their stifling defense.

“The kids played well defensively and forced us to take a lot of outside shots,” he said.

The Bulldogs take the court next on Dec. 20 against Fairhaven at Fairhaven. Tip-off is at 6:30 p.m.
