Marion family competes on "Family Feud" Feb. 2
Tri-town fans of "Family Feud" will see some familiar faces on the Feb. 2 show.
Marion residents Cynthia and Paul Thomas competed alongside family members from out of town on the show back in May after auditioning last winter.
“My sister-in-law basically put everything together, and we went for an audition in Boston,” Cynthia Thomas said. “We passed all the auditions, they got in touch in March, and then we went in May.”
For those unfamiliar, Family Feud is a game show hosted by Steve Harvey where two families compete to name the most popular answers to survey questions in order to win cash and prizes.
“It was a whole bunch of fun,” Thomas said. “It was a phenomenal experience that you get to do once in a lifetime. I’d recommend it to anyone. We had a good time.”
The Thomases have always been fans of the show, but amped up the viewing once they found out they’d be participating.
“It was harder than what you expect,” Thomas said. “It’s quick, it’s fast. We said to [Harvey], ‘Where do they get these questions from?’”
Though the Thomas family filmed the episode back in May of 2017, it will air for the first time on Feb. 2 on WHDH at either 8 p.m. or 8:30 p.m.
“I’m excited! We want to see how it all turned out, because you don’t know until it comes out," Thomas explained. "I don’t know how much they’re going to show.”
She added that the experience was one she’ll cherish forever.
“[Harvey] was a blast, and the whole staff and the producer were very nice people,” she said. “We had a good time.”
