Bugs' eating habits a hit with kids at Natural History Museum

Apr 7, 2018

To the Editor:

The Marion Natural History Museum wishes to thank Blake Dinius, entomologist with the Plymouth County Extension Service, for sharing his knowledge of Marion's backyard bugs.

Did you know that the Ceropia moth is Massachusett's largest insect? And, that it has a wing span of up to six inches?

Bugs' eating habits were also discussed, some of which were pretty questionable, so of course the kids thought that was a big hit. Blake also brought in a live praying mantis for our inspection, and many specimens of moths and winged insect under glass to take a close up look at with magnifiers.

The museum also wishes to thank all the volunteers that helped with the yesterday's program.
