The birds are back in town: studying spring arrivals

Apr 13, 2018

Children at Marion's Natural History Museum spent April 11 learning about newly-arrived spring birds in Marion.

Justin and Jess Barrett of the Nasketucket Bird Club stopped by the Natural History museum to share their expertise on the bird species.

Amongst the birds that students found were a red-tailed hawk, two vultures, several robins, a downy woodpecker, black-capped chickadee and house sparrows.

The Barretts explained each bird's habitat requirements and food sources, before helping the children create their own hanging bird feeders.
