Apr 30, 2018

Marion's 2018 Memorial Day Remembrances and Parade will take place on Monday, May 28, starting at 9 a.m. in front of the Music Hall at 164 Front St.

In the event of rain, the ceremony will be relocated to the multi-purpose room of Sippican Elementary School.

The 2018 parade and remembrances will follow a new route, stepping off from the Music Hall northbound on Front Street, marching a half mile up Front Street to the Veterans’ Memorial at Old Landing. Upon arrival at the Veterans’ Memorial, the town will pay tribute to the military’s “honored dead” who “gave the last full measure of devotion," town officials said.

The parade and remembrances will feature the Sippican School Marching Band, led by director Hannah Moore, The Portuguese American Band, a military veterans color guard and a police color guard. The master of ceremonies for the event will be Captain Andrew Bonney of the Massachusetts Air National Guard.
