Tri-County Symphonic Band hosts 'British Invasion' concert

The Marion-based Tri-County Symphonic Band hosts its 16th annual Pops Concert, "British Invasion," Sunday, June 10. The festivities begin at 1 p.m. under the Grand Tent at the Fireman Performing Arts Center, Tabor Academy.

America's Got Talent semi-finalist Samantha Johnson and the Occasion Singers will also perform. On the program are musical selections from the 20th century to the first part of the 21st century, as organizers note: "we explore the musical exports of our neighbors across the pond."

Included on the list are "Your Song" by Elton John, "Hello" by Adele, and Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody."

A social hour with lite fare from On The Go catering begins at 1 p.m. The concert begins at 2 p.m.

Tickets for the concert cost $25. Raffle tickets are $20 each. Both can be purchased at the Symphony Music Shop in Dartmouth and the Bookstall in Marion.

Raffle prizes include a $1,000 cash grand prize, Boston Red Sox tickets, New Bedford Symphony Orchestra tickets, and more.

Proceeds from the event benefit the John. R. Pandolfi Scholarship Fund.
