Sippican Lands Trust offers yoga classes by the marsh

Sippican Lands Trust will offer Summer Yoga at Brainard Marsh on three Saturdays: July 28,  Aug. 4, and Aug. 11. All yoga sessions begin at 10 a.m. and will be held at Brainard Marsh on Delano Road.

The classes are being held in partnership with Anchor Yoga & Meditation Center in Mattapoisett.  The event is free for Sippican Lands Trust members, $10 per non-member.

Marcia Hathaway will instruct on July 28 and Aug. 11. Hathaway is a teacher, a Level 1 Certified Reiki Practitioner, a certified Zumba instructor, and certified in Chi Running and Chi Walking. She has been educating for more than 36 years in everything from children’s fitness to pilates to aqua aerobics.

Deb Fraine will lead the yoga session on Aug. 4. Fraine has been practicing yoga for 20 years and is a registered member of Yoga Alliance having completed her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training in Vinyasa Flow Yoga with Donna Pagliarani at the Dharma Connection in Sandwich.

Brainard Marsh is a seven-acre parcel of land located along Buzzards Bay in Marion and was donated to Sippican Lands Trust by the Brainard Family. Brainard Marsh features a meadow, a pond and a small beachfront. Parking is located near the corner of Bass Point Road and Delano Road.

Each participant is asked to bring a yoga mat, water, bug spray and sunscreen.
