Friday, Nov. 1
Dance the night away.

The Knights of Columbus will host a teen dance at their hall from 7 to 10 p.m. The dances are chaperoned by six adults and a policeman. They are for students in the sixth, seventh and eighth grades and cost $8 to attend.

Saturday, Nov. 2
Think Christmas.

The Guild at First Congregational Church of Rochester will hold its annual Holiday Fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall at the Church. In addition to numerous tables with handmade items, there will be a silent auction of many gifts and gift baskets. Chicken soup and sandwiches will be served for lunch. Race cars.

Scouts and youth groups in the tri-town area will compete in the Soapbox Derby from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Scouts, St. Gabriel’s youth, and other kids from Kindergarten to grade 5 will race homemade cars down Holmes Street to see who built the fastest car. There will be drop off locations for Gifts to Give and Scouting for Food. Water and hotdogs will be served as refreshments. The rain date for this event is Sunday Nov. 3.

Sunday, Nov. 3
See a guest preacher.

The First Congregational Church will host Linda Summer of the Agape Puppet Ministry, who will use chalk drawings and other creative storytelling methods to deliver her message to children and adults.  A potluck will follow the 10:30 a.m. service for more time with Summer. Hear about history.

Mattapoisett Museum will host five University of Massachusetts Dartmouth students to present on historical topics from 2 to 3:30 p.m. For more information visit the museum website at: https://www.mattapoisettmuseum.org/events.

See art.

The Marion Senior Center will host an exhibit called Art for All Ages from Nov.1 to Dec. 2 at the Cushing Community Center. The opening reception for the exhibit will be Nov. 7 from 5 to 7 p.m. and will provide refreshments and a chance to talk with the artists.
