Tabor boys varsity basketball team end run in New England Tournament

Tabor Academy boys varsity basketball team fell to Choate Rosemary Hall 62-57 on Friday, March 2 ending their run in the New England Prep School Tournament.

The Tabor Seawolves lost to the number one seed, Choate, in the semi-finals of the tournament held at Worcester Academy.

The boys varsity team had claimed victory on Thursday, March 1 in the quarterfinals over Kent School in Connecticut. The Seawolves finished with a score of 68-58.

Coach Chris Millette said that senior Dimitry Coronel, who has a full basketball scholarship to the University of Maine, was a leading force for the team.

As for preparing for the game against Choate, Millette said the Seawolves would keep up their practice regiment.

“We really just kept up with what we’d been doing all season and just tweaking to make sure we understand how to adapt to what the teams we play are doing,” Millette said.

Before the game Millette said that he expected a tough game from the number one seed, Choate, but knew that his players to put up a good fight.
