MARION — Tri-Town Against Racism and the Elizabeth Taber Library will celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with a “Community Read” on Saturday, Sept. 23 at 10 a.m.

The book will be “Family Lore” by Elizabeth Acevedo, which tells the story of one Dominican-American family told through the voices of its women as they await a gathering that will forever change their lives. “Told with Elizabeth Acevedo’s inimitable and incandescent voice, this is an unforgettable portrait of sisters and cousins, aunts and nieces—one family’s journey through their history, helping them better navigate all that is to come,” according to a Tri-Town Against Racism press release.

Refreshments will be served.

Tri-Town Against Racism is a 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to defending against racism within the community by providing education, promoting positive communication, and listening to the voices of those affected.
