Rochester town clerk shares information on specimen ballot errors
ROCHESTER — The Town Clerk’s office of Rochester has shared information regarding recently released town election ballots that contain errors.
To correct the errors, new ballots have been ordered and will be available for use on election day, according to a press release from Town Clerk Marjorie Barrows.
Instructions on how to proceed have been mailed out to voters who requested and were mailed early voting ballots. If requested, new and corrected ballots will be mailed in the next few days.
Additionally, any voter who requested an early voting ballot and has not yet returned it may choose to vote in person on election day.
“We apologize for any confusion that was caused because of this oversight,” the press release said. “The integrity of this and every election is our highest priority, and we are confident that the actions we have taken will protect the voters of our community.”
Rochester’s town election is Wednesday, May 22. Polls will be open at the Rochester Senior Center from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
