Joan DeRugeris, Bess Woodworth to exhibit at Marion Art Center July 20

The Marion Art Center, will hold an opening reception for two exhibitions on Friday, July 20 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Marion artist, Joan DeRugeris will exhibit her paintings in the Cecil Clark Davis Gallery and Bess Woodworth will exhibit her watercolors in the Patsy Francis Gallery. The two exhibitions will run from July 20 through August 21.

DeRugeris, who has been a Marion resident for more than 20 years, will feature a new collection of work with an impressionist style. Her paintings come out of a year and a half devoted to creating a series of landscapes, marsh scenes, walled cities, open fields and inlets.

Boston artist Bess Woodworth’s watercolors cover a variety of organic subjects: fog, birch trees, sea shells, plant life, reflections in water, mountains, atmosphere. She has also worked on a series of conceptual paintings about relationships.

The Marion Art Center Gallery is located at 80 Pleasant Street and is open Tuesday through Friday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Admission is free and open to the public.
