MATTAPOISETT — Dog owners and non-dog owners alike are invited on a dog hiking adventure through the Old Aucoot District, which is a collection of properties that makes up 397 acres of protected land and trails.

Whether hikers have a dog or not doesn’t matter — there will be plenty of dogs to share.

The approximately 1.5 hour hike will take place on Friday, April 25 and starts at 10 a.m. from the new Grace Pond parking lot.

This walk will begin by heading down the red trail toward the water, then loop back and meander up Old Slough Road back to the Grace Pond parking lot.

Hikers should wear sturdy shoes and dogs should be on a leash.

This free event is co-hosted by the Mattapoisett Land Trust and the OutHounds Adventure Club and will take place rain or shine.
