MARION — To celebrate the life of departed young musician Nolan Gibbons, the Nolan Gibbons Memorial Fund is hosting its 5th Annual NolanFest on Saturday, June 28 at Silvershell Beach from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Attendees can enjoy live performances, food trucks and vendor booths at the event, in addition to a raffle and a ukulele tent.

The event is free and also serves as a fundraiser for the memorial fund, which awards scholarships to young artists.

Since 2022, the memorial fund has awarded over $50,000 in grants and scholarships to students interested in arts and music.

“We are so grateful to all of our donors and sponsors who make that possible and help to keep NolanFest a free event. This is how we keep Nolan with us and honor his memory by celebrating and supporting the things he loved,” said Sheila Gibbons, Nolan’s mother and president of the fund.

Nolan passed away in 2020 at the age of 15 from Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood. He was an accomplished young musician who toured the country with Acapop! KIDS, a national youth a cappella choir formed by the Grammy-Award winning group Pentatonix.
