Marion Police seize fentanyl, cocaine, resulting in 7 arrests
MARION — The Marion Police Department and Massachusetts State Police seized 840 grams of cocaine and crack cocaine, 63 grams of fentanyl, oxycodone pills and 45 grams of psilocybin from an alleged Marion-based drug operation located at 968 Point Road on Monday, Sept. 8.
“These drugs are not welcome in our community, and we will use every law enforcement tool available to investigate this type of illegal activity,” said Marion Police Chief Richard Nighelli.
In addition to felony quantities of drugs, $7,000 in U.S. currency was also found at the scene.
The targeted narcotics investigation began with interception of communication between two suspects and resulted in seven arrests.
35-year-old Marion resident Spencer Mello was arrested and charged with trafficking fentanyl, trafficking cocaine, Class A distribution, possession with intent to distribute Class C, possession with intent to distribute Class B and conspiracy to violate controlled substance act.
35-year-old Wareham resident Alexander Ard was arrested for possession Class A after officers witnessed him purchasing fentanyl from Spencer.
27-year-old Marion resident Travis Mello was arrested and charged with trafficking cocaine, trafficking fentanyl, possession with intent to distribute cocaine and conspiracy to violate controlled substance act.
34-year-old Marion resident Niles Mello was arrested and charged with trafficking cocaine and conspiracy to violate controlled substance act.
Spencer, Travis and Niles are all siblings who reside in Marion at 968 Point Road, where the operation allegedly took place.
When found at the property, 18-year-old Brockton resident Jaden Pabon was taken into custody on two active felony warrants related to an armed home invasion in Wareham. 36-year-old Marion resident Jamiee Morris was charged with possession Class B and conspiracy to violate controlled substance act after officers found crack cocaine on her person.
Suspected narcotics customer Geoffrey Evans was arrested following a brief vehicle pursuit after he arrived on the scene of the active investigation. Evans was charged with an OUI related to consuming alcohol and failure to stop for the police.
