David S. Knox, 46, of Mattapoisett died Saturday, January 19, at Tobey Hospital surrounded by his family.

He was the husband of Gracinda Knox and the father of Emma and Audrey. Born in Salem, he was the son of Harland and Judy (Dinsmore) Knox of New Bedford. He lived in New Bedford before moving to Mattapoisett 20 years ago.

David was an HVAC/R contractor who co-owned and operated DG Service Company, Inc. with his wife. David was a generous man completely devoted to his family, friends and profession.

David was an active and beloved member of the community, involved with local charities and organizations. He was a member of the New Bedford Area Chamber of Commerce and the Advisory Board of Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School.

Survivors include his wife and daughters, parents, siblings, Ann Knox of Burlington, VT, and Debra Knox and Andrew Knox, both of New Bedford; and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

His Memorial Service will be held on Friday, January 25, at 9 a.m. at the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home for Funerals, 50 County Road, Route 6, Mattapoisett. Visiting hours will be on Thursday, January 24, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
