MARION — The Sippican Historical Society welcomes Todd Baptista as he shares the music that rocked the South Coast during the 1950s and 1960s during “When Rock and Roll was Young: Doo Wop on the Southcoast,’’ to be presented at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11 at the Marion Music Hall.

An author, historian and concert producer, Baptista will share the influences, the hitmakers and legacy of the classic doo wop performers. He will explore his archive of memorabilia, photos and stories while sharing the sweet harmonies of early rhythm and blues.

Those attending this family-friendly event are encouraged to bring their dancing shoes.
