Variety is key for Buzzards Bay Musicfest

MARION — From a viola concerto to a jazzy ragtime jam, the Buzzards Bay Musicfest will offer a wide-range of programming that will appeal to music enthusiasts of all tastes.

Classical music will be featured  at the opening night concert on Wednesday, July 9, Thursday, July 10, Saturday, July 12 and Sunday, July 13, while jazz will be showcased on Friday, July 11 night with a performance from a 9-piece ensemble. 

Opening night’s performance will include classical pieces such as Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Overture from “Le nozze di Figaro,”Ludwig van Beethoven’s “Symphony No. 1 in D major,” and Carl Philipp Stamitz’s “Viola Concerto No. 1 in D major.”

All concerts will take place at the Tabor Academy Fireman Performing Arts Center with no tickets or admissions fees required.

From Wednesday through Saturday, performances will take place at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday’s concert will begin at 2 p.m.

A free shuttle service will offer attendees rides to and from the festival from the parking lot behind Sippican Elementary School, located at 100 Park Street.
