MATTAPOISETT — Discover the wondrous world of quacking wood frogs, blue-spotted salamanders and fairy shrimp on Monday, April 21 at 10 a.m. with the Mattapoisett Land Trust.

Wetlands expert Elizabeth Leihold will lead a walk through one of the Old Aucoot District’s vernal pools, a “vital breeding habitat for resident amphibians and invertebrates.”

Participants will examine frog and salamander eggs and learn more about the creatures that populate the vernal pool.

The free event will start at the Holmes Foundation on Angelica Avenue. Dogs are not allowed.
