Annual Marion Town Party to be held on Aug. 24

MARION — The Marion Firefighters Association and Harbormaster Department will work together to host the Annual Marion Town Party on Saturday, Aug. 24 at the Town House, 2 Spring Street. All proceeds from the event will go to community and departmental needs.

From 3 to 5 p.m. there will be a “Touch a Truck” event at the ball field behind the Marion Town House. Vehicles from the Fire, Police, and Harbormaster departments will be featured.

Other activities include a rock wall from Carabiner’s, inflatable games from ABB Moonwalk, and face painting by Handi Mandi. All of these activities are free to the public.

Food and drinks will be sold, starting at 4 p.m. Musical entertainment will be provided by Night Flight Music and DJ Gary Seed. There will also be a bonfire later in the evening.

Event organizers are currently seeking corporate sponsors. They will also be selling advertising space in the Town Party Booket.

Donations from the community are needed to compensate for the cost of the event. Cash, food, services, and other in-kind donations will be accepted by the town. All contributions are tax deductible.
