Applications open for Independence Day parade in Marion

Jun 10, 2024

MARION — Independence Day is less than a month away, and so Marion’s annual parade is just around the corner.

The parade begins at 9 a.m. Thursday, July 4.

It will form at 8 a.m. in the ballfield behind the Marion Town House adjacent to Sippican Elementary School. Organizers will be on site to check participants in and to line up the parade.

Trophies will be awarded to first, second and third place in each category listed on the application. There is also a Best in Parade award.

Insurance regulations prohibit the throwing of any objects from parade entries. Candies or other such items may be passed out by individuals walking beside the parade entry.

To participate in the parade, submit an online application by June 30 through marionma.gov/509/Fourth-of-July-Parade-Committee. Paper applications are also available at the Marion Town House.

For questions, contact the parade committee at 508-748-3520 or email Donna Hemphill at dhemphill@marionma.gov
