Arrest made after Rochester home invasion
An Attleboro man has been arrested this morning after an armed home invasion in Rochester Wednesday, Nov. 16, according to a press release.
Rochester Police were called to a Hartley Road residence after a male victim told responding officers he was forced back into the house at gunpoint after opening the door for a person named "Gus."
The suspect, identified as Augusto M. Darosa, 35, of Phillips Street in Attleboro, forced the victim to the second floor of the home where he stole a safe containing several thousand dollars, according to police. Darosa fled the scene in a dark-colored minivan.
Early this morning, Attleboro Police located the dark colored van in the driveway of Darosa's Phillips Street home and were able to take him into custody without incident.
He has been transported back to the Rochester Police Department where the investigation into the incident will continue. Darosa is facing charges of home invasion while armed with a firearm, armed robbery, and larceny over $250.
