Auction moves to Music Hall

Nov 16, 2016

On Saturday, Nov. 26 at 10 a.m., Marion Antique Auctions will hold its sixth annual Thanksgiving weekend auction. This year the auction is at a new location, the Music Hall at 164 Front St.

Whaling items will dominate this sale, including 19th century harpoons, scrimshaw whale teeth, sailor made tools and canes, sea chests, whale oil lamps and books, paper and advertising items. Nearly all of the objects are related to Nantucket or New Bedford. From a Marion waterfront estate comes a collection of Lalique glass, most of which was purchased in 1999 at Christie’s Barbra Streisand sale. From the same estate is a selection of perfume bottles including a large, unopened Shalimar bottle.

The complete list of items is available at marionantiqueauctions.com. Viewing is Friday, Nov. 25 from 2-6 p.m. and Saturday from 8-9:30 a.m. For additional information call Frank McNamee at 508-498-7136.
