Barbara Jane Schoch, 77

Barbara Jane (Briggs) Schoch, age 77, passed away peacefully on October 12, surrounded by family and loved ones.

Barbara was born at home in Marion on June 30, 1936 to Elwyn Sherman Briggs and Beatrice Mae Briggs. She spent her childhood in and around the Marion and Wareham area.

She was a stay at home wife and mother until going to work for the telephone company in Palm Springs, Cali. for a short time before moving to Santa Barbara, Cali. She spent several years working for Pacific Bell in different areas of California.

Barbara had four children, of which, one son, Dennis William Winslow, of Cape May, N.J. preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents Edwyn and Beatrice Briggs; brothers, Sherman, Robert, John, and Michael Briggs; and one sister, Beatrice Briggs McWilliams.

Survivors include her loving husband of 29 years, Jack Schoch; one brother, David Briggs, of Wareham; and daughters, Diane (Tom) Warren and Beth-Anne (Royce) Wilson; and son, Scott Winslow. Other survivors include numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews; and her great-aunt, Violet Adams, of Marion.

Services will be held at New Tacoma Cemetery on Saturday, Oct. 26 in Chambers Creek Chapel at 1 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that remembrances be made in Barbara’s name to Franciscan Hospice House, 2901 Bridgeport Way, University Place, WA 98466.
