The wounds and the grief that a parent feels following the death of a child can seem insurmountable.  Many parents go years without speaking of their child or dealing with the enormous grief that lives inside of them.  It doesn't matter whether the child that died was an infant, a teenager or an adult. A parent's grief cuts deep.

If you have been holding your grief inside, unable or not knowing how to deal with this tremendous loss, you are invited to join us on a six week journey through  bereavement and loss of a child.

Led by Rev. Diane L. Badger, pastor of Community Baptist Church,  these six sessions will cover many different aspects of the grieving process, give you a chance to meet other parents who are on this same path and engage in conversation.  The sessions begin on Wednesday, May 23rd at 7 – 9 PM at Community Baptist Church, 441 Front Street, Marion and continue each Wednesday through June 27th. Some of the topics discussed will be Pain and Sadness, guilt, anger, bereavement and the rest of your life.

Rev Badger has led bereavement support groups in her role as a hospice chaplain and also as a parent who has suffered the loss of a child.  “The loss of a child can impact your life in so many ways, effecting a marriage, siblings, faith. It can be a very isolating experience.”  Rev. Badger says.  “I do not guarantee any solutions, but I promise that together we will walk on this journey, sharing our pain, increasing our understanding, and easing each other’s burden.”  For further information please call Rev. Badger at 508-369-6291 or via email at dianelbadger@gmail.com.
