MATTAPOISETT – Turk’s Seafood in Mattapoisett had a special dinner guest on Sunday night, Aug. 28. Actor Bill Murray stopped in for a meal on the patio after playing a round of golf at the Kittansett Club in Marion.

Margo Almeida was working the bar that night when Murray came in to dine at the popular Mattapoisett seafood restaurant and sushi bar. Almeida helped deliver some food to the table, as Murray dined with a party of 14. 

Almeida said that she and the other servers gave Murray some space, but after he paid the bill, he “gave everybody a second and took pictures” with the Turk’s Seafood staff. 

“He was very kind and patient and a good sport about everything, he lived up to the hype and was everything I imagined he would be,” said Almeida. Almeida is a big fan of Murray’s work, and could not narrow down her favorite film of his, listing five or six of his many blockbusters. 

“Everybody working was so jazzed,” she laughed. “We were all fangirling.”
