The Mattapoisett Library will have a fourth birthday party for Sadie the Listener Dog on Saturday, Nov. 22 from 11 a.m. to noon. There will be free cupcakes, party hats and a round of "Happy Birthday."

Guess how many doggie treats are in the jar and receive a special book signed by Sadie.

Sadie the Listener Dog visits the library regularly and sits quietly while children read to her. She is specially trained to encourage young readers who need a supportive and patient listener.

A collection will be taken for items needed by local animal shelters: collars, leashes, food, blankets, toys, treats or gift cards. Bring these items to the library or Emma Marie's Grooming and Daycare on Route 6 in Mattapoisett.
