MATTAPOISETT — Mattapoisett resident and Bishop Stang High School student Lowell Copps received the $1,000 Blanche B. Perry Scholarship from the Mattapoisett Land Trust.

Copp will use the fund to study civil and environmental engineering at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. Copps stated that he picked the university because it supports his passion for competitive running and his interests as an outdoorsman.

“I think it will be a good fit for me,” said Copps. “I like their engineering program, and they also have a strong cross country team.”

Applicants for the Blanche B. Perry Scholarship undergo a comprehensive evaluation and selection process.

Students must submit an official transcript, a letter outlining their goals and a list of references to be considered for the scholarship.
