Blue and yellow brighten window boxes in support of Ukraine

MATTAPOISETT — A sea of blue and yellow decorates the window boxes at the Mattapoisett Post Office in a show of support for the people of Ukraine, thanks to an effort by the Mattapoisett Woman’s Club.
The window box design, which also features sunflowers, was created by club member Sharon Doyan.
The flags were planted Friday, March 18 by the club members, who reported that passersby expressed thanks for the effort.
At the club luncheon on March 17, club members donated $500 to World Central Kitchen for Ukraine.
The organization feeds refugees as they cross the border into Poland, Moldova, Romania, and Hungary. World Central Kitchen has also taken food and supplies to Odessa.
